Happy Birthday, Beeswax!

Beeswax is one year old today!

To celebrate, here's some sketches I did this weekend while reading Titus Groan. They are of various persons passing the title character at his christening ceremony. And, yes, I'm reading a book about people who live in a castle that doesn't even exist. Judge me as you will.

Chef Swelter.
Mister Flay.
Doctor Prunesquallor.
The Countess Gertrude.
Lord Sepulchrave, The Earl of Groan
Lady Fuschia.

If I'd realized that this anniversary was coming up, I'd have had them all intoning the name "Beeswax."

So, one year, huh? Who knew I had this much crap that wasn't finding any other public outlet? I have no idea if I have another year's worth lying around.

Only one way to find out.

Congratulations. I have certainly enjoyed your first year's efforts and look forward to many more.

The traditional gift is paper; moe-dern types recommend clocks. Which would be most appropriate?

Full and effusive congratulations! :D

I can't help wondering how you'd draw Steerpike. Probably bad luck to draw him on an anniversary, though.

Thanks, everybody! As for appropriate ways to mark the occassion: why, you've already given the perfect gift! Comments are meat and drink to blogs.

I don't have a sketch of Steerpike, but I did do one of Clora and Clarice which I forgot to post yesterday. Maybe that'll be today's post.

I just found this. I have almost finished reading Titus Groan. Really love your renditions of the characters.

These are beautiful drawings of the characters!

Personally, I'm more likely to be more suspicious of people who don't like Mervyn Peake!
