Tonight's the Night!

Boy, has this been a long week. As soon as tonight's opening ends, I'm crawling into bed with a page-turner, and I ain't coming out 'til Monday. Everything seems to be in place, except the postcards. MCA sends these sorts of things out through some sort of mailing house out in the hinterlands, and, well, the mailing house may or may not have lost the postcards. A few people have received them in the mail, but I, for one, haven't, and there won't be a stack of them available at the show itself. Ah, well.

The good news is that we won't be serving punch. We'll be preserving the gallery tradition of cheap wine in plastic cups! Yee-haw! Let's get tore up!

Joel, thanks for inviting us - Kenan and I enjoyed it very much.

The opening was a terrific success, even if folks couldn't manage to put the comix back in their pocket of origin. Now, if you can convince the creator of "Smart girl" to visit us here in Memphis or at least make some more comix, I'll write up that Nobel nomination toot sweet.

Thanks, Chris, I'm glad you had a good time. More on the "Smart Girl" creator coming up.

You're right about Illium. Just wait until you get to Olympos! Yowza! My favorite Simmons is Carrion Comfort. Very disturbing and full of can't-put-it-down goodness.
Wish I could have seen the show, I'm sure it was impressive.

That was me above, dang these modern contraptions!

Yeah, I really enjoyed tearing through Ilium this weekend, in a way that I haven't in a long time. But, I felt a little cheated when I got to the last few chapters and realized that the story was not going to resolve itself in one volume. Simmons does epic well, but I remember thinking that Hyperion got repititive and a smidge indulgent in the second volume. So I'm glad to hear that you think Olympos is good, too.
